MONSTER MAGNET - God Says No (Universal)
Dear Dave, I was really looking forward to meet you again. You still seem very
sensual to me, like in the early years, when I got to know you. Did you dig up
a psychedelic record-collection getting inspired by The Doors and Steppenwolf?
With your music you create different moods, you like simple instrumentation as
well as heavy riffs, slideguitars and sitar - not to forget your beloved hammond
organ. The drug-induced atmosphere of your songs fills my body with pleasure and
the mushroom clouds in my head transform into multicoloured soap bubbles. Your
erotic voice feels like magic to me and makes me dream about you. Apart from the
usual family business, you obviously still enjoy your hobbies sex and drugs. And
it's cool to see you swim against the tide of the mighty MTV empire and surf its
waves at the same time. You made yourself an icon, surrounded by topless beauties.
So you are now prepared to climb the next step straight to the top of Rock 'n
Roll while music fans long for you between your open legs. Right on, baby!
Lots of love, Doris. NB: I read that your hot leather outfit for the cover- picture
was just borrowed. (dj)

NINE INCH NAILS - Things Falling Apart (Nothing/Motor/Universal)
It is a wellknown and pleasant tradition with NIN that they turn old into new. And so of course who couldn't stop their fingers from last year's masterpiece "The Fragile" was mastermind - Trent Reznor - himself, accompanied by such notorious soundpuzzlers like Adrian Sherwood and Dave Ogilvie. Again some will call the remixes disturbing and indigestible, but have NIN ever been known for anything else? But to all those, that enjoy diving into amazingly intense worlds of sound, I strongly recommend the full doze via headphones. Another good reason for purchasing the record is an incredible coverversion of Gary Numan's "Metal ". And now let's turn to slight criticism: why three times Starfuckers Inc.??!! There surely must have been some other sound
gems around Mr. Reznor, mustn't it? (ja)
